WhatsApp new bug allows the hacker to send fake messages

A New bug discovered in WhatsApp which allows the hackers to modify the text in both the group and private chat.

It was found by an Israel-based cyber security firm, Check Point Research, says that this new vulnerability allows the hackers to send fake messages and it also allows to send the message to the group except for particular members from receiving the message.

The Checkpoint reveals this by writing on their website "the vulnerability could make it possible for a hacker to intercept and manipulate messages sent by those in a group or private conversation 'as well as' create and spread misinformation".

And also by using the WhatsApp "Quote" feature can change the sender name, and to make it appear as the message came from a particular person who is not even in the group.

By doing this, it would be possible to blame a person for spreading a fake news.

The security experts have warned this vulnerability may let the cyber criminals spread the fake information in the groups.

For this issue, the WhatsApp spokesman said that "We carefully reviewed this issue and it's the equivalent of altering an email to make it look like something a person never wrote".

And WhatsApp ensures that this loophole doesn't affect the end to end encryption.
